Branding is more than just a graphic, logotype, and corporate colors. The logo of a company, event, or product is just the first element that includes the style and look of your marketing, advertising, promotions, and packaging.
For several years I’ve been able to do the design work for Denison’s Music on Main summer concert series. We start with the logo design for that year’s series and that sets the tone and style for all the other design pieces… ads, signs, banners, flyers, stage passes, social media, tee shirts, etc. It’s one[...]
Ivanhoe Ale Works is based in an old movie theater that once played silent films. As we were working on the logo design they were also working with a sign company to recreate the original movie marquee. This led to a horizontal version and a vertical design that also works well on their tall, frosty[...]
The logo for the award-winning Doc Holliday Saints & Sinners Festival was inspired by the vintage style of faded old ghost signs from the wild west saloons and gambling houses that once lined Denison’s Skiddy Street. In the late 1800s, when this was a rough train town on the edge of the western frontier, Doc[...]
Looking back to 2014, I designed a logo for the Dallas Baptist Association for their Martin Luther King CityServe Day. The theme centered around Christ washing his disciples’ feet in John 13:3-5 so I illustrated a wash basin and cloth. The featured image is the final design and the following photo shows the other design[...]
This logo for the Dallas Coalition for Hunger Solutions was created with the Dallas Baptist Association. The group is made up of the Texas Hunger Initiative, the North Texas Food Bank, and several other nonprofits/religious organizations. We worked on several versions before settling on this design with brush illustrations of various hands and eating utensils symbolizing the[...]
The Blue Duck Winery logo features a vector illustration of the wild west character Blue Duck combined with a vintage type style. The labels contain a background of imprinted stone and also show a digital illustration of their historic building.
For the Levitt Amp Denison Music Series – Music on Main – I did digital illustrations of various musical instruments in a letterpress style. The final logo design was basically modular so it could be configured several ways to fit any layout we needed. This carried over into tee shirts, banners, flyers, posters, and print/social[...]
Family ties have created a long-standing relationship with Homestead Winery and Climer Design. This latest version of their logo merges crisp illustration, new font, & color scheme.
413 Makers Gallery & Studio is an artists collective that provides gallery and working space for local artists and makers. To fit the feel of the gallery it needed a touch of art deco to match the building it’s housed in mixed with a hand-drawn “hand made” graphic. Drop in and check them out in[...]
To celebrate the 125th birthday of President Dwight D. Eisenhower at the Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site we designed all kinds of promotional materials. We started with the logo featuring a crisp line illustration showing the 1890 birthplace. Printed materials included a poster, flyers, postcard, and t-shirt.
